Jihan Wali is a citizen of Pakistan who was held in extrajudicial detention in the United States's Guantanamo Bay detention camps, in Cuba.[1] His Guantanamo Internment Serial Number was 444.
Jihan Wali was transferred to Pakistan on May 9, 2003.[2]
On May 8, 2003 Wali was released at the same time as two other Pakistanis, Shah Muhammad and Sahibzada Usman Ali.[3][4][5] Wali is from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
Only one other Pakistan detainee, elderly Mohammed Saghir, had been released prior to his release.[6][7]
Shah Mohammed, one of the other Pakistani men released at the same time he was, told the BBC that they were given psychoactive drugs, and that Jehan Wali had not spoken for eight months.
